Myofascial Release
Jana specializes primarily in myofascial
release. Fascia is a specialized type of connective tissue
that surrounds, invests and protects all of the visceral and
somatic structures of the body.
The fascia sheaths entwined in and around
muscles are responsible for immediate lengthening of muscle
stretching.
Direct technique myofascial release involves
slow and controlled application of the therapist's body weight
through the hands, fingers and elbows into the client's body.
The movement that initiates the restoration
of fascia mobility comes from two sources. The first is the
micro stretching that occurs as the practitioner directs pressure
into the fascia and the other movement comes from the client
who is directed to make a motion that will influence the treated
tissue.
Myofascial release will improve a clients
ability to incorporate movement re-education. Once the fascia
is able to support changes, the client will enjoy the new
postural and functional patterns.
Combined with Swedish
and deep tissue massage, cranial sacral balancing and trigger
point techniques, Jana offers a wide range of remedial modilities
to help you toward the recovery of your health.
Healing is a process that takes time and
is influenced by many factors. What you do at home, at work
and what exercise you choose can have a profound effect on
your recovery. So it is important to carefully address all
factors affecting your health. |
